APPROACH-The mentioned site is located at about 40km SW of Motihari the dist headqrs.Motihari can be approached by railways As well as roadways from the rest of the country.After that a .distance of about 40 km is to be negotiated by local time bound buses or reserve or shared auto rickshaw.

ABOUT THE SITE –The site is a Bodh stup near Kesoria about 40km SW of MotihariThe stup is 104’ high which by attaining 1’ higher height from world famous Borobadur stup in Indonesia Becomes the highest stup in the world. It is said that lord Budha while going to Kushinagar gave his begging boul to the devotees of Vaishali to stop them from going ahead.So emperor Ashoka made A stup at this place in memory of the sameIt was constructed in 6th century A.D.

APPROACH-The site area is approachable by roadways as well as railways Ashok pillar is near Lauria which can be reached by traveling up to Nandangarh railway station by train and then going to Lauria by hired conveyance. It is at about 20kmNW of Betia, the headquarter of west Champaran district. 
 It can be approached from national capital Delhi and State capital Pa
tna by corridor roads of NH 24 and NH 28.

ABOUT THE SITE-The site is Ashoka pillar constructed by emperor Ashoka before 2200years ago.The pillar has lion on the top and the sub neck of it is decorated King duck(raj hans) eating grains The pillar has inscriptions of emperor command to free the prisioners for good works.The stone of the pillar match with that of Mathura and Chunar. 
OTTHER SITES-Excavations of Nandangarh from 1935to 1939 has yield manjusa(box)with some command of lord Budha and bhojpatra on the metallic dome.2 Balmiki barrage3 Balmiki ashram4Tiger sanctuary.

APPROACH__The site has approach by railways  as well as roadways, One has to reach Belaganj railway station on Patna- Gaya rail line and then move about 6km east.There are other option like hired conveyance to reach the site.

ABOUT THE SITE_The site is complete hillock of granite rock. Spheroidal weathering has given it a domal shape. Above it in the central portion nature has kept thin pillar shaped rock. This looks like big nail or pole from distance or the bottom of the hill.Which gives overall look of a Budhistastup’. Local say goes like that if a crow  sits over the top most pillar of the hill it will start oscillating. So the name Kaua(crow}dol (movement). Reminiscences of ashram of professor Shilvadra is in east of the Hillock. A  very big statue of Lord Budha 8’ high 6’wide 4’ thick is Seen in padmasan sitting pose. Dilapidated statue of Goddess Durga is also seen in tourist foot movement periphery. Archaeologically and historically it is concluded that it was built by dynasty of Mokhry kings.

REMARK__It is good site to be enjoyed by state school students. So, the state tourism department should pay attention to it.

Approach over the location-The area can be approached by roadways up to the foot hill then tracking over the stony steps of about 500”. Nearest railway station is Gaya Junction at about 12km

ABOUT THE SITE—The site is a small hill with big  cave at its top slope. The site finds mention in historical literature,travel  literature as well as archeological inscriptions  Some have said it as Mora hill and some have mentioned it as Dongra hill. Now the Dungeshwari name is in vogue. Founder Director of Archeological survey of India Dr General Kanigham reffered it as pre-Budhistor PrakBodhi hill because   the hill cave where from Lord Budha got enlightment after years of meditation. This fact is mentioned in the inscription of western platform of Mahabodhi temple. Chinese travelleer Huensang and Larian have also mentioned pre Bodhi hill in their travel diary
