ABOUT THE  SITE-The site is Semaria village on the bank of the Ganges.It is famous like Allahabad and Prayag  when people come here and stay in hutment in the month of Magh in biting cold season.The Ganges here takes a bend of flow towards north which

Makes the place  much important. Geographically the place is eastern boundary of Mithilanchal.Mithila being closer to the Himalayas  must be facing much cold during the winter.So rulers and ruled  had easy way to come to rest  over this place in winter.

    Pauranic and mythological say is that Karn being born by a virgin  lady wanted Krishna to be  burnt  on virgin piece of landKrishna after death of Karn went in meditation  and found at this place as piece of land on which no cremation has taken place. So  Karn was burnt at this place.

 Recent historical importance is that it was birth place of rastra kavi RamdhariSingh Dinkar.That is why he has elaborated the brevity of Karn  in his poem epic “Rashmi Rathi”
